Casa Bamboo is locate 7 minutes from the Zihuatanejo airport on a 15 kilometer white sand beach. Playa Blanca beach is yet undeveloped and except for local fishermen casting their nets from the shoreline, dolphins, whales and seabirds you are on your own...which is how we like it.

Casa Bamboo has two bedrooms that are mirror images of each other. Each room has its own bathroom, air conditioning, ceiling fan and loads of closet space. One of the rooms has a flat screen TV and DVD player. We provide bed linens, bathroom towels and beach.

You’ll be lulled to sleep by the sound of the ocean on our comfy, high quality mattresses. The bedrooms are bright and airy with lofted wood beamed ceilings that reaches 20 feet at the peak.

We are especially pleased with the bathroom design at Casa Bamboo. The rain-head showers, natural pebble basins and natural light flooding in through the glass block gives you the feeling of a luxury resort…Casa Bamboo is a luxury resort.

The open kitchen concept is the ultimate in beach living. Grilling quesadillas on the BBQ while watching dolphins frolicking in the ocean…it doesn’t get any better!

The pool is perfect for an afternoon float, with cocktail in hand of course, or, sit at the pool bar, with cocktail in hand, and watch the amazing sunsets.

This is Felipe. He’ll be there 3 times a week to clean the pool and do a little gardening…and no, sorry ladies, he won’t be cleaning the pool in a leopard Speedo!

Once, pronounced Ownsay, Spanish for eleven, is the resident guard dog. She will protect and love you. She’s a rescue as well as a cancer survivor. Once lives between Casa Bamboo and our good neighbors, Victor and Robin. She gets fed regularly next door but I’ve never know her to turn down a treat.

A 25 minute walk down the beach will bring you to beautiful Hotel Las Palmas. Stop in for lunch and a margarita, they make the best in Zihuatanejo! You need a booking for dinner but it’s well worth it. The menu is delicious and the setting is paradise.  www.hotellaspalmasmexico.com

At the south end of the beach is Barra de Potosi, a Mexican village that has not undergone the usual gentrification. The lagoon is great for kayaking and you can lunch on fresh fish and cold beers. Your pesos go far in this rustic village.  It's easy to get lost in the mangroves so I highly recommend booking a tour with the very charming Lucio Rodrigues. Check out his website for all kinds of fun and interesting tours! www.quitosoltours

Playa Blanca is one of the last bastions in the area where sea turtles lay their eggs. Just down the beach from Casa Bamboo is a reserve where volunteers protect and release the turtles into the sea. Everyone is invited to participate in this amazing event.
